The author and the assistant: who decides what

The author of the novel is you. The AI here is an assistant: it writes, suggests and checks, but the decisions are yours alone.

What you decide

You decide what the novel is about, who its characters are and what happens in every scene. You read what has been written and decide whether it joins the novel.

Nothing gets into the novel without an action of yours: a scene — without the Accept the scene button, a fix from the assistant — without your agreement on the card of that fix.

What the assistant does

The assistant writes the text of the scenes, assembles the canon from your material, sketches out the plan, looks for contradictions, suggests fixes. You can also simply talk an idea over with it — it sees the material of the section you have open.

What you wrote yourself it never overwrites. Any suggestion of its own you can turn down, and one you have taken you can take back.

How much you take part is up to you

You can lead the novel scene by scene, reading closely into each one. You can trust the assistant with more: let it assemble the canon, sketch out the plan, write several scenes in a row — and read what is already done. The order stays the same either way: first the suggestion, then your decision.
